- At the end of the project, contemplating of the possibilities and content of the project’s continuation
Project area
The project’s target area has been chosen to be the surroundings of the association’s biggest cooperative partner shelter, One Rescue, the shelter of Cosoba. This means the few village communities closest to Cosoba, Comuna Joița in Giurgiu, comuna Brezoia, Slobozia Moară and Comuna Răcari in Dâmbovița. More than 11 000 inhabitants live in these village groups.
Association strives to reach the vast majority of this population during the campaign and deliver information to them in a planned and organized way, one area and one village at a time. The association’s two largest sterilization partners operate in the area; Association One Rescue together with the team of One Vet, and Paws Care Vet, who also help us in the implementation of the project together with volunteers and other operators. Rescueyhdistys Kulkurit have taken into account the area’s sterilization needs regarding the project’s target area when deciding on the 2025 year budget.
Our education project will last at least until the end of May 2025, and during that time we will evaluate the effects of the campaign and the possibilities for the continuation of the project.
Information About the Organizer
Rescueyhdistys Kulkurit ry / Rescue Association Hobo Dogs is a Finnish animal protection association that was founded in 2012 to help homeless dogs in Romania, to do long-term work for them and above all to ensure that one day there won’t be so many of them. Hobo Dog’s vision is that such associations would no longer be needed in the future, that all dogs would have a home and a good life.
From the beginning, we wanted to invest as much as possible in sustainable animal protection work, in comprehensively changing the situation of homeless dogs. We focus our activities especially on sterilization campaigns that started in 2013, and from the beginning of our operations until today, together with our donors, we have enabled the sterilization of more than 36,000 dogs and cats. All sterilisations are fully financed with donations from Finnish donors.
